Fireplaces, stoves and particulate matter

In recent years much has been reported in the media about the fromfireplaces and wood . Some headlines and articles have been quite confusing so that you could easily get a false impression of wood heaters. Looks like the situation in the truth?

First Federal Emission Regulation
First Federal Emission Protection Ordinance (dec 1st BImSchV, often referred to as fineregulation) was amended in March 2010 to provide higher minimum legal requirements for firing systems hang up. In Germany were decades old standards have included the limits which no longer reflect the current state of the art. DIN Plus was only a seal of approval andtherefore not binding for manufacturers and distributors. This allowed heaters are put into operation, in comparison with modern and high firing had significantly lower emission levels and low efficiency.

First BImSchV includes stricter limits to be introduced in two stages (stage 1 and stage 2).The Level 1 applies since 03/2010 and all newly-built , stoves and other combustion plants must comply with this step. From 31.12.2014 then the second stage isPlants, which are established after that date must meet the level 2.

For existing stoves and systems before the introduction of the first BImSchV were set up, apply a long transition periods that are after the date of installation of the systemdetermined. The operator sollcher system should set targets for this with the sweep in connection.
